I spoke too soon. This has been a major headache all day. I have soft-reset the router at least eight times today. This is going in the garbage!

This was at first an intermittent problem. I read about the heat issues and turned off the wireless and took out the side panels of the router (mounted vertically). Nothing seemed to work and the problem got worse and worse. Surprisingly, the fix was to set the MTU at 1400 in W2K and the router firmware. It has been running for two days straight without a hitch. It doesn't seem that this would be the fix for something that seemed heat-related (i.e. becoming progressively worse), but it did the trick.
