charlesm1950's Full Review: NetGear WG602 802.11b/g Wireless Access Point
I bought the WG602 based on positive reviews. I plugged it into my Linksys router and it worked immediately. All was fine for about 2 weeks and then it seemed to lose its WEP setting and MAC address restrictions and was letting my neighbor log into my network!
I went to my desktop on the wired LAN and tried to access the WG602 to check or change its settings. It was no longer accessible at its IP address or it name. I pressed the reset button that was supposed to return it to the factory settings but nothing changed. I tried making a direct connection to it by putting only a hub between my PC and the WG602 (thinking the router might be blocking my access), but I still couldn't access it. After much frustration (by the way the Netgear website support sucks), I took the WG602 offline. I'll return it to Netgear for service, but in the meantime I'll go to Fry's to shop for a different brand. Too bad I didn't install it soon enough after purchase to be able to return it.
