Norelco Cool Skin not so "cool"

Pros: Looks good and is durable. Gel/Lotion dispenser is convenient. Clipper attachment is nice.

Cons: Does NOT leave a close shave. Gel/lotion packets are expensive. Manual shaving is faster.

I have used a shaving razor all my life and decided to try an electric razor after hearing so many good things about them. The Norelco Cool Skin (7775) is one of Norelco's top of the line electric razor boasting their closest shave and a comfortable one with their gel/lotion release system.

I'm not certain what kind of close shave they mentioned but I found that this shaver does not provide a close shave at all. As recommended, I used the shaver for an extended period of time (6 weeks) in order to have my hair "become used to the shaver" (whatever that means). Even after this time, I have not found any improvement. The shave is not even remotely as fine as my old razor nor is it any faster or more efficient to use.

I was really hoping for more from an electric shaver. For all you users of the old classic manual razor, stick with it. Sometimes old tech is just tested, tried, and true.
