| pilaar39's Full Review: Quartet gbc ShredMaster® 70S Shredder |
We have had this shredder for many years now, and were quite satisfied with it. It does have a limitation of about 4 or 5 sheets (24 LB) at a time, and only shreds in one direction - not cross-cut. It does not do CDs/DVDs or credit cards, but will handle papers stapled together.
It has an automatic paper sensing mode, so you can leave it powered on, and it will start shredding when you insert paper. In addition, there is a manual forward and reverse setting that can be used for heavier loads and clearing jams.
The waste basket provided is somewhat small, and tends to fill quickly, backing paper up into the feed path. You will need to push the shredded paper down or empty the basket to continue.
As I said, it has been a good work horse and we have had no problems. We recently upgraded to a cross-cut shredder to provide additional security and higher capacity.
