I also enjoyed your review on the proper way to make a Sazerac. But I am biased; I am a descendant of the Peychauds of New Orleans (Marie Louise Peychaud (1836-68) was my great-great grandmother, and Antoine Amedee Peychaud, the famous apothecary and father of the (Sazerac) cocktail, was my second cousin. Nice to see not only the homage to New Orleans culture, but also the insistence on the use of rye - how many Sazerac recipes have I seen where they use bourbon! Also, I enjoyed the recommendation for Old Overholt - in the Cannery Row novels, Steinbeck referred to it as Old Overcoat!

And cool to see that you are into Louisiana culture. We coonasses like the outside interest (or at least wonder what the fuss is about). (yep, my name ends in eaux...)
