| macpete's Full Review: One For All URC-8811 Remote Control |
I just have to echo everyones comments for this remote! It is the best for the money remote to be found bar none, period!
Now, to be fare, I bought the UCR-8810w at Wal-Mart (has every thing the URC08811 has).
I too researched high and low for a remote to consolidate my TV, VCR/DVD, Receiver, and HD cable box down to just one remote. Not only just one remote but one that everyone in the family can use!
This is the remote you want, UCR-8810w in my case but its exactly as the URC-8811.
The price is absolutely right, my cost $18 and change, tax included! Before I found this unit, I was contemplating buying the harmony 6xx series for about $150 (on the internet).
This unit allows me to assign functionality from one device to work in anothers Mode. Example: My Receiver/Amp controllers the volume but the remote spends most of its time in the Cable Mode, so I just assigned the Mute and Volume +/- to the Cable Mode and bingo, I can now control the Volume of the Rec/Amp from the Cable Node (and it still controls the Volume from the Rec/Amp Mode as well)! My TV has a Display button that allows me to control the size of the picture, Normal, Full or Theater 1-3. Well I used one of the 4 learn Mode keys to teach this remote the Display ability and again, bingo, I now have the same functionality as my TV remote. I have not had a need to the 4 Macro keys or the Sat and Aux Modes but its nice to know that I still have a lot of functionality that I can add if I want to.
This is a great value remote, dont hesitate to buy, as I said I bought my UCR-8810w at Wal-Mart for under $19 bucks and its worth every penny!
