Pros: Sounds, Wattage, Design, Easy to use, Connectivity, Great value for your money.
Cons: None (really, none).
The Bottom Line: Don't waste your time. Go and buy the Onkyo 601. You will bless me for that...

I don't want to repeat the former comprehensive reviews, but I must say that so many can't be mistaken. I wandered around so many stores, surfed many A/V websites and audiophile forums on the net, and after a while I knew that My next A/V receiver will be either the Onkyo 601 or the very good Denon 1804. Then I found the Onkyo 601 here in Manila, Philippines in a very attractive price: 24500 peso which are 435 USD, for the black model. The Denon 1804 cost higher (around 500 USD) and after a while I was able to buy a Great Gold Onkyo 601, that was in a use for 4 months, for less than a 350 USD.
My Onkyo 601 is connected to Pioneer 366 DVD (great DVD player) and to the Wharfedale speakers, Diamond series, as follow:
Main: Wharfedale Diamond 8.4
Center: Wharfedale Diamond Center
Rear: Wharfedale Diamond 8.1
Back Center: Wharfedale Diamond center
SUbwoofer: Wharfedale PowerCube 12"
The Sounds that the Onkyo 601 provides are incredibale. It has Great clarity, excellent balance between the different sounds and can easily feed the Wharfedale 8.4 which are so demanding...
As mentioned in the former reviews, using the Onkyo 601, is a great experience of re-exploring your cd library. Lots of new sounds and instruments will be noticed!!!
While using the Onkyo 601 for home theater, well, this is a huge surprise! so good that I can't describe in words the sounds is provides, Really extraordinary A/V receiver.
Considering all the factors and elements, I must say that this is an excellent buy, that one will not regret. Warmly recommended.
