Not the bang for the buck as expected/oreck xl 2000 not the best vacuum

Pros: very light weight.

Cons: loss of suction after one bag change, and no onboard acessories. Expensive vacuum and accessories.

The Bottom Line: If you want to spend all that money go for the dyson or elctrolox. DO your hw and then purchase your appliance or any thing else.

I want everyone to read this review because, I am not a recent buyer of this vacuum, I am writing this review after purchasing this vacuum about 2 and half years ago (I bought this vacuum in October 2005). Thus today my oreck works minimal to what it is advertised as. I paid about $400 for this vacuum, when I first received the vacuum it worked exceptional, until next month when I had to change the bag, after purchasing a pack 20 bags for almost $40 I noticed a loss of suction, it did not pick up as much dirt on my carpet after one bag change. Today 2 years later the suction has almost diminished. My point of this review is if you are spending more than $400 and you are not getting a life time of suction (if not a few years of suction); and on top of that you have to spend $100 more for bags and belts and what have you, you might as well go for a cheaper alternative. Therefore if you are going to spend all that money you might as well invest in a Dyson or 1 cheap vacuum every year. My advise is go for a cheaper alternative like Hoover or Eureka who have been in the vacuum business for a long time and have a good suction power. I spent all that money and today the oreck doesn’t even pick a crumb. There fore read your reviews carefully and then buy a vacuum or any other thing.
