This is another scope built by a company in Russia that used to make stuff for the military. Now that there is no military market for the company, INTES has turned to making some really great optical equipment for us amateur astronomers and this Mak-Cass is not exception! (They are the manufacture who makes the Argonaut) The views from this scope are really crisp right out to the edge and with the Argonaut's design, doesn't focus by moving the primary, but instead has a very nice Crayford 2" focuser. This was a highly rated scope in the April 1999 issue of Sky and Telescope. All of the design flaws pointed out in the article have been addressed by INTES.
The only drawback (budget wise) is that you have to purchase an additional 2" to 1.25" adapter and a 1.25" diagonal. For some reason, you cannot run a 2" diagonal with a 2" - 1.25" adapter--the scope will never resolve into focus. So make sure to budget for these additional items.
