A few months back I turned on the Zenith TV in my study and noticed that the colors seemed a bit "off". After looking into the problem I discovered that the red gun in the set had gone bad and its lack of output was the cause of the problem. This left me with the choice of either buying a new set or putting up with watching the TV wearing red sunglasses.
I went with the new TV option.
Since this set was just for my study, I didn't want to shell out a lot of cash and while shopping around Best Buy I noticed this Orion set on sale for $149.99.
I spent a few minutes adjusting the picture and after comparing it to several others in the store, decided to take one home and try it out.
Out of the Box
The first thing I noticed was the screen. While not a "Flat screen" television, the screen has very little curve to it so distortion is minimal for viewing.
Inputs options include coaxial, front and rear component and a rear S-video jack as well as a set of component audio output jacks in the back.
Setup was quick and painless. The remote was well labeled and easy to use with a good range as well.
Picture quality is excellent. After adjusting the output on the set using the THX setup menu on the "Attack of the Clones DVD, I must say that the image on this set does not look like it is coming from a $150 TV. While it is not up to the level of the 27" Sony in my living room it doesn't fall too far behind it as far as picture clarity goes.
Both TV's are hooked up to my DISH and I no longer experience the "quality shock" I used to get when coming from the living room to my den during the middle of a program that I used to notice with my old Zenith television.
Audio quality is another matter though. While it is acceptable in my small den, I would not be able to live with the sound output from the television's speakers alone if it were used in my larger family room. If you plan to buy this set for your primary viewing screen seriously consider investing a few dollars in a secondary set of speakers to make up for this set's audio shortfall.

Overall I am very happy with this purchase and to be honest I would still say that if I had paid even $250 or a bit more for it, however at the price of $150 this set is an amazing bargain.
