Pros: Onboard tuner
Cons: A little "neck-heavy"
I was searching for a good looking "work-horse" of a guitar. I had played several other brands and really didn't think the Ovation had much competition. I really didn't want to spend a bunch of money on a new guitar and was lucky enough to find the 1866, new, in a music store on an EBay auction. While there are many better sounding acoustic guitars on the market, the acoustic sound of the Ovation is acceptable, as a matter of fact good, but the flexibility, and the fit and finish of the Ovation is superior in my opinion to any of it's competition. When you plug the thing in it is easy to see why so many artists, particularly "pub bands" swear by these instruments. It is a "pack mule" of a guitar with the looks, fit and finish of a thoroughbred. I own several other guitars that may be getting a little lonely, lately. This Ovation was, just what I needed.
