Overview
This is my fourth handheld to date (previous include Palm m105, IIIc, and m130), and it's also the best one I've owned so far. The high-resolution, and not to mention bright, screen, is gorgeous. Plenty of memory and expansion capabilities makes this a great contender for a person looking to buy a Palm, but not wanting to spend $300 or more on one.
Screen
As stated earlier, the screen is absolutely gorgeous. At the lowest brightness setting, it almost blinds me at night while I'm lying in bed playing games. The crisp, easy-to-read 320x320 display adds clarity to the device that is so sorely needed in a portable, pocketable, PDA. It's fantastic.
Sound
I haven't tested out the sound much on the Tungsten|E, but from what I've heard of it so far, it sounds pretty good. There's one game that I have (Warfare Inc) that uses sound effects that are easy-to-understand, and it almost bleeds my ears with the headphones. I'm yet to install MP3's and videos on it, so I don't know how that's like. Overall, though, a great sound system.
Miscellaneous
The included software is a great bonus to buying the handheld. The altogether value of it all is probably well over $100, so really all you pay for the handheld is the mere other half. Unfortunately, Palm didn't include a universal cradle; instead they use 2 different cables - one for charging and one for hotsync'ing. These two cords can get tangled together, but with a few twisty-ties will get the job done for a tangle-free world.
Summary
Overall, this is a fantastic device for the value-savvy customer. With it's 32MB installed memory with room for plenty of expansion, bright, high-resolution screen, and it's sleek and portable design, $199 is a steal. This is one of those handhelds that should have premiered at $250 or even $300. I'd recommend this to everyone.
