This is a beautiful 27-inch TV with an excellent picture. This TV is for those who don’t have room for a larger TV but want one with excellent picture quality. List price is $750, we found one for $649. Yes I know the price seems high but if you can find a store with one and can place it next to a 27 inch that costs only $300, you will see the quality difference.
The Panasonic CT-27SX31 measures 27-1/8 inches wide by 23-13/16 inches high by 19-13/16 deep.
What is in the Box?
1. The 27 inch TV
2. A Multi-brand Remote Control wit 2 AA batteries
3. Operating Manual in English and Spanish plus other instructions
4. A manual on the V-Chip Parental Lock
V-Chip
A Built-in V-Chip that automatically detects weather or not to show the program according to your specific settings.
When a program shows you a TV rating they also produce an electronic signal that lets the V-Chip know what the rating is and what to do next. What to do next is how you program what is allowed to be viewed by others when you are not there.
3-Line Digital Comb Filter
A comb filter is made to make a better picture with finer detail, eliminating most extraneous colors and cleans up the image outlines. This TV has the 3-Line Digital Comb Filter.
There are four types of combo filters, listed here from the worst to the best.
1. Glass
2. 2-Line Digital
3. 3-Line Digital
4. 3D Digital
A Flat Screen
The Panasonic CT-27SX31 has flat screen that helps on reflection glare and distortion.
Check out a TV that doesn’t have a flat screen and you will see what I am talking about.
Picture in Picture
A two tuner Picture in Picture is built-in this model, what that means is you don’t have to run one through your VCR tuner. A one tuner requires another source like a VCR that has a tuner built in it.
Channel Labeling
You can label the channels to your preference. Example: label channel 3 as NBC and channel 4 as CBS and so on.
Timers
You can program the TV to turn on or off at what ever time you wish.
You can set the sleep timer at 30, 60, or 90 minutes to turn off the TV. It will warn you 3 minutes before it shuts off with a count down timer in case you want to watch it a little longer.

The Remote Control
This is a Multi-brand remote that will operate most VCR, cable boxes, DVD players and DBS receivers.
It is an Illuminated Remote that lights up for about 3 seconds when you hit the light button. The light button is located in an easy place to remember and use location on the very top the remote.
You can make your TV adjustments with on screen programming and the remote is easy to use and navigate with.
It feels good, though some of the buttons are a little small, but they are spread apart far enough from each other to keep from pressing two at a time.
The Inputs and Outputs!
There is a little panel on the front of the TV that you just push a little and it will open to the front inputs. This is considered Input # 3 on the TV and has two RCA jacks, one for video and the other for sound, plus an S-video jack. There is also a stereo mini-jack output made for Headphones connection.
In the back of the TV you have an antenna 1 & 2 input and a split output, all three use a coaxial connection.
Then you have Input # 1 that has RCA video and audio jacks plus component video jacks, which consist of three connections and is the best video connections you can make from something like a DVD player.
Input # 2 has the RCA video and audio jacks plus an S-video jack. There are also RCA jacks made for connection of an Audio Amp.
Overall
The Panasonic CT-27SX31 has a beautiful picture and it sound pretty good through the built-in speakers. The menu on the TV is easy to understand and use to setup the TV to your specifications.
DVD movies are excellent to view on the CT-27SX31, when you pause the picture on the DVD it is crystal clear with no lines in it.
With all the inputs and features of this TV it is a beauty, I highly recommend the Panasonic CT-27SX31 - 27-inch television set.
