rreemo's Full Review: Panasonic Lumix® DMC-LC33 Digital Camera
Short and simple - I purchased this camera after I read all of the glaring reviews about it here, and on another site. First one crapped out within one week - turned itself off (as if going into power saver mode), and never turned on again - new batteries made no difference.
The second did the exact same thing after I had it about a month. So, I thought it might be something to do with the place I had bought it from - requested a refund, and went to a local Wolf Camera. There I purchased the Camera, rechargable batteries, a nice case, and a one year extended warranty/insurance policy (b/c you can never get out of that place with just buying what you came in for).
Nevertheless, this one lasted 14 months before it crapped out! 2 months out of warranty, and now it will not turn on! While it worked, I can say that it took really nice clear pictures, but the light had to be perfect for it. Any pictures taken outside in the sunlight would always have sort of a blue tint to them - pictures that required a flash at all just simply suck! It's terrible in darker environments.
So now I'm stuck with this useless piece of crap, b/c they are telling me that the only option is to send it in to be refurbished, and that costs almost as much as the camera was brand new. Beyond that, I honestly don't care how much it is, I probably wouldn't even spend another $20 to fix it if it were that cheap....this thing is pure junk! Now I've gone out and purchased the Canon that I should have in the first place! Live and learn I guess!
