Pros: Price, picture quality, "vivid" feature for bright room viewing
Cons: Remote would not control Sony DVD player
The Bottom Line: Great picture for the money; friends are really shocked at how little I paid for this set.

| newsreporter's Full Review: Panasonic PT-53WXD63 53 in. HDTV TV |
After a month of hopping between every video store in town and comparing picture and cost, we found a steal of a deal on this set during a big sale at Circuit City for $1299, with a $200 rebate from Panasonic. The set is HDTV ready, and you can pick up a fantastic signal as we did with a ten dollar set of rabbit ears. Hard to believe in this day of cable and satellites the best picture you can possibly get is by doing it the old fashioned way. If you do not live close enough to a station with HD broadcast, you might have to put up an old fashioned Tv antenna on the roof.
The set is incredibly light, on rollers, and you can actually move it with one finger. Quick and easy set up instructions (even for the technically challenged.) Great sound quality, and a feature for regular or surround. Plenty of inputs in the back and front, along with a port to view your digital pictures off a camera card.
Our TV is in a very sunny room, so during the daytime we simply switch the picture to "vivid" mode and any glare from sunlight seems to disappear.
All in all, the best TV we've ever owned...and the one we "fight" over when different people want to watch different shows.
