Pros: Solid, lightweight, portable, more bells and whistles than I could want.
Cons: No longer manufactured, no warranty if you get one used.
The Bottom Line: If you're on a limited budget, find a reputable seller of used electronics and get this cool little toy. I am completely satisfied, but be advised, it wont play bootlegs.

| triple_irons's Full Review: Panasonic PV-L50 Portable DVD Player |
Panasonic started making portable dvd players in 1998, this is the second generation, manufactured in '99, and has since been discontinued. I bought mine at the local superpawn for $150.00 about a year ago, and for a 6 year old device, it's like I bought it brand new yesterday.
LCD 5-inch color widescreen display, ( 4:3 and 16:9 images )
this unit will play region 1, or all region dvds, cds, and vcds. Original accessories that were included are a slim ( credit card sized ) remote control, A/V cable, AC adaptor, AC cord, and battery pack, ( mine also came with a "Case Logic" carrier, and extra battery pack ) and let's not forget the owners manual.
Slightly larger than a portable cd player, this thing has all the bells and whistles that I could ever need. Full screen, wide screen, letterbox display mode button, rapid advance/reverse, skip ahead, slow motion, parental control, dialogue enhancer, virtual surround sound, ( if the player is connected to external speakers )S-video output connector for an external monitor, man I could go on and on with all the features this unit provides, however I am pretty much a novice when it comes to electronics, so I just use the factory pre-sets ( for now ). Can operate in a range from 5-90% relative humidity ( no condensation tho, I mean where am I gonna be watching this thing, the Amazon rain forest?)
The manual included is easy to understand and follow, 83ppg. Battery life is app. 3 hours of continuous dvd play, 4.5 hours for cd. Unit has a built in battery recharger.
I have never been happier, I use it as a second dvd player connected to the tv in my bedroom. This is my favorite toy.
I've taken it to work to watch music videos at lunch.
The only problem I can see,( other than it's been discontinued.) is that the player operates off 9 volt, rather than 12 volt, which makes it impossible to play in an automobile, and I hear that the adapter is hard to get, but I'll deal with that when I get a car.
