sea__wong's Full Review: Panasonic Pivot Action Pro-Curve ES8095NC Electric...
After 6 months of using this model my week old opinion still stands
It's the best shave without foam! wet or dry
If you're considering changing your facial hair care this shaver may be for you.
Best Features
1. Close shaves
2. Quick charging with inductive (no contacts )stand ,
3. Traveller friendly with light weight and International voltage auto selection
4. Similar Wet and Dry performance
5. Accurate large built-in Trimmer
6. Easy to clean and change foils
7. Adjustable pivot point is a nice feature , although I use it in locked mode mostly.
8. Ergonomic and good looking!
Missing or needs Improvement
1. Needs a safety cover for the on button for Travel
2. Car 12v charger would be a handy gizmo.
3. The foils and cutters are expensive, barter for them when you buy the unit.
4. Active Cutting area is somewhat less than the width of the foils
5. Self Cleaning mode is a redundant feature just run under runnning water.
6. The charger is fantastic, a small item that packs up neatly but for permanent mounting in a bathroom you'll need shelf that allows the mains cord to reach a plug, the cable is captured so it's a electrician's job to splice and extension on for further reach.
Why Did I Change ?
I previously used a succession of Gillette and Schick Double and Triple Blade razors, and only used an electric- battery "double foil" shaver in emergency car park shaves. The mounting cost of shaving gel, and blades was eating the value of this method. I saw new technology on the hoizon and I began the hunt for an alternative.
My goal was a shaver that had a shave "as close as a blade", with long lasting foils that never needed me to clean them!
(we gotta dream)
I found most of what I needed from the Panasonic range, although the Braun self cleaning linear units were at the forefront until the last moment, as they clearly were "easier to clean" It was the size and portability of the charging /cleaning stand compared to the Panasonic that swayed me.
I hope you find the decision easier after reading my musings. Here's what I have learnt in the last six months.
Note: I found the blade to electric transition very difficult on my neckline where I have reversing hair growth, I eventually started shaving 2x /day to "train "my beard", it seems to have worked after 2 weeks.
Best Use Techniques
After 6 months wit this shaver these tips are my humble opinions on getting the best results from the ES 8095. If you read this and have any suggestions please feel free to post a comment I'd love to hear from you.
Recipe for a close Dry shave
I use the shavers in the car mostly so I am careful with the use of the saver, which can look like a cell/mobile phone and attract the constabulary's attention.
Step One - Lubricant
Although I previously didn't regularly use a lubricant with my Remington, I have to recommend it with the ES8065
I use a small (one drop) of King of Shaves shave oil on the central cutter; this reduces the friction and gives me an easy solution as the bottle is a tiny 15 ml, great for th car. Alternatively a splash on pre-shave is also great. I know this seems unusual for a dry shave, but it really does help the battery life and my skin.
Step Two - Just shave!
Try different strokes and circle patters until you get the right combo.
Recipe for a close Wet shave
Step One - Lubricant
Select a lubricant, water, foam, splash-on whatever takes your fancy, after some considerable searching I've settled on the King of Shaves Oil, for sensitive skin, I can buy them from the local grocer.

and Gillette Gel
The KOS wins for ease and closeness
Step Two
Work some of your favorite shave gel onto your face and what's left into the heads of the shaver. the Panasonic does a great job of lathering up and run much better with a little lubricant.
Summary
So what's so good about this shaver?
Linear Drive is a major advantage
see
http://www.panasonic.com.au/home_appliances/personal_care/linear_drive.cfm
The 30 Degree internally angled blades cut sharp and have stayed sharp for 6 months.
Inductive Charger is a great idea and its surpirsingly light and small.

Is it all True ?
Yes,
I recommend this shaver for daily duties, the swivel and the slelf cleaning function are nice to have gimmicks, don't rely on them for as a deciding factor.
but I still find the Gillette Triple blades better for my errant neck line.
Key Points
Pros
1. Best electric so far, good features and battery recharge time
2. Small & light including charger easy to use when traveling
3. Easy to clean
Cons
1. ON / Off Switch needs protective slide or clip on case for travel
2. No disadvantage v other "foil" electrics, but errant angle growth hair on neck is hard to get v Blades
3. No Car Charge Option
