Pros: Clock, Sleep timer, better sound than ANY, holds 5 cd's, great tuner, Aux Input, Reliable
Cons: Noisy disc changer. Lack of competition.
The Bottom Line: Deffinately recommended. Just line up three or four other systems and play the same cd across the board. You'll see.

| benjamin911's Full Review: Panasonic SC-PM18 CD Shelf System |
OK. I started out looking for a small system now that I've moved out of a large apt into a smaller one to save money. I went to Circuit City and Best Buy to compare the mico-systems. I looked at Sony, JVC, Denon, Onkyo, and Panasonic. Onkyo and Denon were a bit pricey for my $150.00 limit. Then I tried the Panasonic. I needed at least a 5-disc changer, and auxillary input, and it had to have CLEAN sound while being able to push out some bass. The JVC was nice, just unable to produce any noticable bass, so I tried the Sony CMTEP707 and it sounded even worse.
I was using 4-5 cd's as my reference cd's. I listened to the first track of Cold Play's "Parachutes," Audioslave's new cd, Korn's "Untouchables" and Radiohead's "Hail to the thief" and "Kid A." Not Exactly reference material, but it's what I listen to most.
This thing really does sound P-O-W-E-R-F-U-L. The "S-Sound Eq" function does a great job of making it sound like a large system. I have the Aux input hooked to my PS-2 and I watch dvd's and play games with it, and it sounds amazing. You won't believe how much these sound like theater speakers in a small bedroom setting while watching a movie.
