Pros: Great picture. Relatively low price.
Cons: Broke after just over two weeks. DO NOT BUY THIS TV!
My family and I were falling in love with the picture of this set until the unfortunate events of this evening. This morning, the set worked fine, but when I returned from work, the power LED was flashing and the unit would not respond to the remote. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and it came on, but all the inputs except PC are garbled and un-watchable.
Best Buy says they can't replace it 'cuz they're sold out, so they're sending out a repair dude tomorrow.
In any event, my two other TV's have been running strong for 7 and 10 years respectively. This Panny lasted just over two weeks.
UPDATE: Since they had no more 37's, I made a deal on a TH-42PD25.
After one month, however, the 42" started to show a vertical split line down the screen about two thirds of the way across on all 480i input (interlace DVD, PS2, XBOX; Photo Viewer, 480i OTA, etc). It tuns out that MANY people have been having this problem with the 37/42, as I found out on www.avsforum.com. Folks there have had their units fixed by the service guy re-flashing their ROM's.
