I use the freeware version of pop-up stopper.. it works great. The whole trend of pop up advertising is really getting on my nerves and I predict a program like this will become essential for web surfing.

As a webmaster, I hate these things on principle (Reply to this comment)

In order to pay hosting costs for people to enjoy the content we provide, most of us are forced to use advertising. In today's market, that does mean a few pop-up ads. While software like this is great for the porn farms that fake you into clicking on their site with bogus search engine keywords, it is unfair to legitimate site owners. Such software decreases their revenue while you still are using their bandwidth. Boycotting sites with too many ads is the only fair way. In this way, their revenue goes down, but you do not consume their resources for free. Eventually, the webmaster will find some other way to generate revenue (charge for admission, etc.) or go out of business.

What a great idea, especially for when pop-ups go out of control. Unfortunately I'm not going to spend the money, but a girl can dream... :)
Nice review.

Thanks for explaining how this operates in such great detail! I can see why you are an advisor for software.
