| J49307's Full Review: Paradigm Titan Main / Stereo Speaker |
The Paradigm Titans are the biggest bookshelf speaker in the Performance series of speakers. The Performance Series are Paradigm's affordable audiophile speaker series. The Titan almost simlar in a design view of the Mini Monitor, has many of the same features, such as; one 6 1/2" poly woofer with a die cast basket,100 watt power handling,is ported in the rear, and comes in Cherry and black. The Titans differ from the Mini Monitor by having the 3/4" CMC tweeter and not having quite the build quality of the Mini Monitor. However the Titan is nicely built for 200 dollars.
The Titans have an "airy" sound which is surprising for a speaker of such little cost. The soundstage depth is HUGE with a nice front to back and side to side imaging qualities. The bass is nice and tight but can be bloated at times, depending on the music being played. However, the Titans have a very flat sound to them. The sound is almost comparable to the Mini Monitor.
These would be perfect for the budget audiophile or the poor college student who wants good sound, but hates the sizzle boom of big tower speakers.
