There's absolutely no question: Patron Anejo is the top super-premium Tequila available today! You may enjoy a good Marguerita, and if you feel macho, you may do Tequila Shots (the lemon and salt trick). If you're lucky, you can find Patron Anejo Tequila, sip it straight, and really learn what a great Tequila was meant to be!
You can't begin to compare this liquor to any other Tequila I've found. The depth and complexity of this great drink are incredible! To mix this into a Margeurita would be a sin (but it would certainly make a wonderful drink!)
Imagine, if you will, a whole new category of liquor: not the raw, burning liquid that we find inside most Tequila bottles...more of a cross between a great Brandy and a great Whiskey, but with the fire and character of a great Tequila.
Recently we've been reading stories of the shortage of Blue Agave, and how prices of Tequila are going up every day. I usually buy Patron Anejo for about $45 per 750 ml, but recently I had to pay $52 for the same beautiful hand-blown bottle.
My advice: If you're in the market for a new sensation, look for Patron Anejo. If you find it, buy it...you won't be sorry!
