You do make a great point, however my reference was simply to the fact that this player's DivX support allows it to play the vast majority of movies on file sharing networks. Of course it will also be handy for those relatively uncommon occasions when you happen to have legal content in an uncommon format.

I understand that this player would fit a "pirate's" needs, but I have made SVCDs of my own home movies that won't play on any player except the one they were recorded on. That was making me quite nervous, until I found that this player will play such formats, as well as MP3s and whatever other formats one might legally have on hand. Thus, I would be hesitant to label this product as useful only to thieves.
