I bought this hand blender mostly for the chopper utility. I was looking for something that would puree fresh steamed veggies and fruit to a baby food pulp for our youngest and this little model did the job...and then some.

I had tried a hand-cranked food mill sold specifically for baby food grinding but found it still left food too textured for our then 4 month old. Food processors didn't seem to chop finely enough. So one day at Target, I came across this hand blender and decided to give it a try.

I now use it every couple of days and have had no trouble with it. Just pop some steamed veggies in the little clear plastic container, position the cover and motorized handle and go. The longer you hold down the power button, the more finely it will chop and puree. I had no trouble making things as finely chopped as baby food consistency "glop" to now that he's older, more textured chopping. Clean up is a breeze. The food receptacle, blades, and other removable parts are all dishwasher safe, though I personally hand wash the piece that connects to the blending motor handle.

There are three functions, all with their own attachment. There's the chopper function, the hand blender, and a whisk. With the blender attachment, this makes great thick milkshakes. There are four speeds, but I've really used the fastest speed the most. And its fast. The whisk whips up egg whites in 2 minutes, and heavy cream in one and a half minutes. All food prep parts are stainless steel and clean up very easily.

Other reviewers have mentioned the weight of the motor handle. It's never been an issue for me. It's ergonomically designed to fit to your hand just right and in fact, the weight of it goes more to show the quality of the manufacturing, in my opinion. And this model comes with a full one year warranty. For the price ($30), you can't go wrong.
