Cons: NO LCD Screen or control on the player itself.
The Bottom Line: Get this if you like something that is tough and well built and scratch free.

Okay, this is my first MP3 player and I have to say I am glad I got this player instead of other players. Before I decided to get MP3 Player, I looked around lots of other portable audio players.
Well, IPOD was definetley in my list because of it's storage capacity and the design...but I thought to myself, Do I really need to carry that much songs? I think it's overkill for me. I really didn't have that much song to begin with. And I heard that the IPOD skips lot when you move around too much for more than 10 minutes. That was also NO NO for me. I needed my players to be 100% skip free because I run everyday for more than 30 minutes.
Then I looked at Sony Mini Disc Player which I thought was awesome. Sony makes good electronics and I have lots of good experience with their products. But then I learn something about ATRAC files that Sony has developed for their mini disc players. I heard that you need to convert your MP3 files into ATRAC files in order to record them into your mini disc...that was big NO NO for me also...I wanted to transfer the MP3 files from my computer as is.
So I came across with Philips Key 005...I remeber watching the commercial..it seemed pretty cool. Anyway, I found some customer reviews of this product form Amazon.com and thought this player might for me. So I got it and now let me tell you more about this player..
First thing I notice about this player is that it is super light! And Super small. It's about size of 25cent pack of gums.
Second thing I notice is that this player is built to handle abuse.
After charging the internal battery for five hours, I downloaded about 25 mp3 files with no problem. The player does not come with extended USB cable because the player itself will be attached to any USB ports. But I MUST WARN YOU THAT IF YOU HAVE SMALL USB OPENING, YOU MIGHT NOT ABLE TO PLUG IT IN. What I mean is that if you got bunch of other USB device plugged next to an empty USB port, you might have to take some of the USB plugs out before you can plug the player..you need to make a room for the player. I am using Mac G4 quick silver with 17 inch flat panel LCD screen. Luckly I have extra USB ports built into the LCD screen which has big open space.
The player did not need any software to work with. It didn't even need the Matchbox software that came with the player. The player itself work as detachable storage device. So basically you can download any other digital files and can upload them to other computer. What a cool device!
The sound of the player is also something that surprised me. Some of the reviewers did say, the sound was better than IPOD. Well, it is! The sound is awesome! Clear and perfect. You will not be disappointed with the sound. The headphone is really nice too. Good quality.
And also the player come with a battery pack with needs single AAA Alklaine Battery and gives you 9 or 10 more hours of music. The built in internal battery of the player would only last about two hours of listening to MP3 files..and more if you listen to WMA files. Why? I have no Idea. Anyway, the battery pack itself looks like part of the player when it is attached. Not bulky either.
However, not all electronic is perfect. There are things that I don't like about this player.
First of all, I have no idea what order of the songs this player plays! NO IDEA! If anybody knows the answer for this, please tell me!!!
Second of all, there is no LCD screen on this player and no control buttons on it. You need the wired remote control to play this player! So if you lose the remote control or break it, you will need to buy it again!
Anyway, this is all I have to say about this player. Overall, it's well designed and built player.
