I think I rated it back on the 3rd. I don't have a little blue hat in cumpooters and that's why you probably missed my name at the bottom.
Since you are already crushed, can I have some doc-juice? I prefer freshly squeezed country style.
Thirsty Ash.

Great review! This review has CAUTION written all over it.
Thanks for going to all the trouble to warn those of us who might have been tempted.

Not only sturdy, but a tripod that allows for fine adjustments in orientation. The other issue is cost effectiveness. This lens will see very little use. It does not justify the cost of a super sturdy tripod. My current light tripod seems more suitable for my current shooting habits.
Thanks,
Ashok

You will need a better TRIPOD (Reply to this comment)

I don't have the brands but my father owns a 500 meter telephoto and he had to purchase a MUCH MUCH better tripod to handle it. His tripod is stable enough to hold the LENS with the body just hanging free.
I got a feeling you current tripod needs human support to hold your lens.
Of course his tripod is TITINIUM (sp), and he has a JOYSTICK mount (WONDERFUL THING THAT IS)! Fun 360/ 180 degree movement its a DREAM.
It weights as much as the ENTIRE tripod and cost more than my tripod a BRAND new KODAK tripod.

It's amazing what a few rounds of golf can do for one's review-writing. (Joke.) Great job, dude.

So after quickly squeezing off some shots
I hope you cleaned your mess, that stuff stains you know.
I packed my lens and went over to Ms Elaine's house.
No wonder no one has heard or seen Ms Elaine in weeks, you serial killing bastard, you. Just stay away from Bouncy Katy, she is all I have left! : O (

What's this?
You're throwing me over for MiscEl over one tiny man boob mishap?
I'm appalled.

Yep. There he was. I zoomed in and saw that he was washing Bruno's gargantuan spongebob squarepants boxer shorts, in warm soapy water. So after quickly squeezing off some shots, I packed my lens and went over to Ms Elaine's house.

Chink in the armor? (Reply to this comment)

I see a scene from "There's Something About Mary" coming out of all of this.
Asshok reaches over to get his Telephoto Lens Camera out of his bag as he is watching Doc through her bedroom window. He quickly points the lens toward her window and comes across my set of hairy man-boobs just one floor below.

You must have ESP Howard. This is precisely the reason for the delay in producing the review on this lens. It sat in my camera case for weeks because I had no use for it. Maybe I should take a picture of it with my 50mm lens so I can sell it on eBay :)

Very nicely done (Reply to this comment)

For those photographers who need a lens with this much reach---you've provided all the critical vs capabilities information they'll need to make an informed buying decision----and for those who might buy this lens on a whim or because they are attracted by the low price---you've provided some balanced cautions that may prevent an impulsive purchase that will end up collecting dust on a closet shelf.
