Pros: Styling, simple operation, 2.4 Ghz,speaker phone at base and handset.
Cons: Cordless handset sound is tinny and weak. No Ni-Mh batteries.
The Bottom Line: Pass on this one! It's going back to the store.

| atestguy's Full Review: AT&T 2462 2.4 GHz 2-Line Corded / Cordless Phone |
This phone system from ATT is an improvement over other models I've own. The system is expandable up to 8 handsets. Caller Id, 25 minutes digital recording, speaker phone in handset and base. There's headset jacks on base and head set. The Base has a back up battery(optional, not included) for a 1 hour usage during a power outage.
The Phone and base are nice looking . Looks aren't everything. The handset sound is lousy in my opinion. Handset seems to be comfortable on your ear. Plugging in a headphone is an improvement .
Lots of features like 2-way Page/intercom, Conferencing, Call transfer, lighted Caller ID display in handset and base. It uses NiCad Batteries in base and hand set. I prefer Ni-MH batteries because they last longer and don't have memory effect like Ni-Cad batteries do. There's No hold button on base. When recording an out going message, the sound is terrible, weak and distorted.
The speaker phone in the handset is a plus, it seems to work well.
