Pros: Nice keyboard feel; good speakerphone - digital full duplex is excellent.
Cons: Lousy sound quality.
The Bottom Line: The money spent on the KX TG2584S could buy a unit with better audio capabilites.

I have few demands when it comes to a phone: good sound, and full duplex speakerphone. Therefore, most of the features that this particular model sports do not have any weight in my review. Others may be more discriminant when it comes to features set, but for me, those two features are the most important.
First, the good things.
Speakerphone was excellent. Background noise on my end did not cause the speakerphone to mute itself. I placed a call to a company where I knew I would be on hold for a while. Their soft muzak came through the TG2584's speakerphone very clearly.
Keyboard tactility was also good. I am a fast dialer. I found the keyboard to be responsive, large enough to prevent me from pushing more than one key at the same time, and it felt like the keyboard could take some abusive pounding.
Now, the bad things.
I placed a call to a relative, and asked her to give me her opinion on the quality of the sound, while using the corded handset and while using the speakerphone. She told me that I sounded the same to her in both cases. She said that she had no problems understanding me, and that everything I said came through clearly, whether I used the corded handset or the speakerphone; but, I sounded to her like I was on a cellular phone, or in some room with tiles on the wall (like a bathroom), because my voice seemed so ... echoie... so metalic... as if I was inside a metal drum. I guess this is the digital electronics causing the voice to sound metalic.
The corded receiver allowed too much background noise to reach the ear piece. I was at BestBuy, lifting up handset receivers from various brand names and putting them up to my ear, just to see how the handsets feel. The handset on this Panasonic unit felt like I placed a slice of bread against my ear, as far as covering background noise goes. So, this was a unit that was not powered. I placed the handset on my ear, yet I could still hear the background noise almost equally well in both my ears. I tried handsets from other brand names, and most were just as bad. Only one brand name had a handset that really muffled the background noise in my ear, and that handset felt like a good fit.
Esthetically speaking, the phone is nice. I didn't care much for the dual antennas, but I suppose they have a useful purpose.
I bought the phone and returned it within 4 hours. Needless to say, I did not have a chance to test the capabilities of all of this phone's features. Once I realized how lousy its sound performance was, I stopped carrying about the other features.
Although I wasn't pleased with the system's audio capabilities, I will say that this system is ok. People you talk to, whether you are using the corded handset or the speakerphone, will understand what you say; and, there aren't any cut-outs or cut-offs; I just don't like sounding like a metalic tin box.
I bought brand X first, and didn't like it because of its speakerphone. Then, I took brand X back and got the TG2584 system. I didn't like the audio quality on the TG2584 unit, and went back to the store and exchanged it for the same brand X unit I originally bought.
I still don't like the speakerphone on my brand X phone, but I am very pleased with its handset quality. I have a low voice, and I mumble alot. The TG2584 unit made it difficult for my listeners to understand me.
Overall, the Panasonic KX-TG2584S unit is not useful in noisy surroundings or for owners who are mumblers. Other than that, if the audio is acceptable, I think it would be a good (yet, a bit ugly) system.
