The Bottom Line: I'd recommend this phone because of all the features and the quality of the phone. It also has a great opportunity for expansion with up to 8 handsets.

The battery for this phone, although it might be easy to use, is cause for some concern. After using this phone for quite sometime now I've noticed that the connection plates on the battery need to be cleaned from time to time. They symptoms for me where when the phone would turn itself off then back on even when the battery was charged. The easiest way I've found to clean them is with a white eraser.
The phone has most of the same basic menus as other Panasonic phones, navigating through the menus is easy and intuitive. Volume is easily adjusted during both regular and speaker-phone calls. The call quality is superb, both in reception and volume. When I talk on the speaker phone through the handset, people I talk to can't even tell it's a speaker phone.
The digital answering machine has 3 mailboxes and is easily accessed using the handset; voice prompts come up through the speaker-phone, allowing you to view the display of the phone for prompts while you key in your responses.
With its built-in speaker-phone the base serves as an easy place to listen to and manage messages or make calls. It has a small LCD display which tells you how many messages there are and which boxes have messages. There are some functions which only the base can perform, this is a hassle, kind of defeats the purpose of a cordless phone. For instance the handset cannot use speed-dial; its a base only feature.
Entering phone numbers into your handset is easy once you find out where the function is. Transferring those numbers to the other handsets you have setup is quick and easy.
This phone works flawlessly with multiple handsets. One of the cool features is the privacy function which allows you to press a privacy button on the handset and it stops somebody from picking up another handset and entering your conversation, all they will hear is a beeping.
I work from home with two handsets and I use the phone a lot. I always ensure that I charge the phones fully before I use them and wait until the battery is fully depleted before I charge them. So far it's worked out great and I get quite a lot of talk time out of them.
