| WGoodson's Full Review: Vtech VT 1920 900 MHz - Cordless Phone |
We purchased this phone when lightening ran in on all our phones and we had to replace them all. We wanted a cordless with most features, without it costing us an arm and leg. We went to Wal-Mart to shop and this was the cheapest one they had with all these features. The price was $89.99. It also included a $20 rebate, which appealed to me a bunch! I am very pleased with it in the 6 months that we have had it.
There is rarely any static in the phone. The only time that I have found that it will have a little static is when you get near a touch lamp, but our old one would do the same. This phone rarely needs charging. I only charge at night and it the morning it is ready to go. The batteries have never run down on me and I use the phone a great deal! It advertises that you can talk for 7 hours before it needs recharging, but that it definitely wrong. I know it will go longer than that.
It has Caller ID Deluxe built in on the handset. This means when you are on the phone, you can see who is calling without switching over. You have to subscribe to the service first through your telephone company. It will store up to 50 different numbers of people who have called on the caller ID. You can also program up to 20 numbers into the speed dial. You can put in their name and number so you never forget which number belongs to who. It has a brightly lit LCD background on the keypad and caller id.
It is 900 MHz that means you can go a long distance before you start cutting out. I like this feature since we are outside with the kids lots of times. The ringer on the handset is very loud on high, but you can switch it to a lower volume. It also has the feature to cut the ringer off on the base and the handset.
The handset is very sleek looking in black with a silver keypad cover. The base is just plain black. You can mount this on the wall or just sit it on a desk. The handset has all of the normal buttons like talk, redial, flash, hold, mute, change channel, pulse/tone, program and volume. The base has a page/phone locator button. No more lost phone!
If you want a great telephone without paying out very much, I would suggest buying this phone. I would also suggest getting a surge protector for all of your phones so there is very little chance of lightening destroying your equipment.
