| NoMattrWht's Full Review: Vtech VT 1920 900 MHz - Cordless Phone |
This opinion is written on the VT 1930c... not the Vt 1920... there wasn't a category for my phone, so I'm shoving it in here.
WARNING, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!
I went to best buy and picked out this phone. Saw the brand name Vtech, pretty reliable name. Looked over the 30 or so phones I saw on display. The Vtech 1930c, that I chose was on sale from $69.99 to $59.99 with a $20.00 rebate. It has alot of functions, caller ID, intercom, speaker phone, number pad on receiver and base, mute, redial, 4 ringer choices for both base, and receiver, call waiting, 21 memory dial, Battery Pack, Belt clip. 900mHz.
I brought it home, and was mad, it must have been one that someone returned, because it didn't have the battery pack in it. So, i had to drive all the way back to best buy and exchange it. Checked to see if all the parts were there before leaving the store, they were. Excited i hooked it up right away. Cool, I have a cordless phone for my other line in my bedroom now.
I cut the bar code off the bottom of the box, filled out form and sent it away, for my rebate. BAD MOVE
It was the second day when I noticed the static. It's really annoying, the static gets soo loud, I have to tell the person I am on the phone with to hold on please, I can't hear them. Then 45 seconds, to 3 minutes later, It just stops. I thought maybe it was the outlet I had the base plugged into, so I tried three outlets total. Same problem. You say, I should change the channel on the phone. Wrong. This phone has no channel button, it is automaticaly. A real pain in the butt! Another thing I hate about this phone is the range really sucks. I don't live in a big house. I cannot go into the basement, or the living room... which are about 30 feet from the base of the phone. And YES the phone is fully charged when i attempt to do this. It always breaks up. Then the phone beeps, and on the display, it says OUT OF RANGE. It's ridiculous. Ok, one more complaint...and this is just as important. It's not comfortable. Put the phone on your shoulder, ear on the reciever, it doesn't curve to my face, so it is always slipping. UGH... I WISH I NEVER BOUGHT THIS PHONE. I Can't even return it, because I cut the bar code off of the box. RATS!!!
I have another cordless phone in my house, its a Radio Shack 900mHz, never had a single problem, no complaints.
I'm just here to warn you...do not buy this phone.
