Overview - One Really Cool Phone
I purchased this phone about a year ago, when 900mhz phones were the rage, and the 2.4 ghz phones (2.4ghz is the best quality available) were way too expensive for anyone. Even though the 2.4ghz phones have came down in price now, and are affordable for the average consumer, I am still quite happy with my purchase of the VTech 1930. The 1930 is loaded with oodles and oodles of features, which is the main reason I purchased it - mute, hold, speakerphone, 50-call memory caller ID, and intercom. It also comes with a super-cool spare battery charger, which can charge a second battery right in the base. The quality is amazing, and the range of the phone is phenominal. I love gadgets, what can I say?
A Festival of Features
The phone is great. It has everything I wanted when I went looking for a phone. Since I already had an answering machine, I needed a phone with everything BUT an answering machine. This was exactly what I needed. It has mute, (which I love because I can say things that people on the other end can't hear), intercom (which allows me to communicate with the upstairs when I have the phone downstairs), and 50-call memory caller ID display, which is great because the caller ID box that I got from the phone company (which is the standard box that everyone gets) only holds up to twenty five numbers. It also comes with a spare battery charger built in (although you must buy the battery), so if you are talking a lot and the battery dies, you don't have to wait for the recharge, you can just slip in a fresh battery.
Clarity
As far as clarity goes, this phone takes the cake. When the antenna is up (you have to make sure you pull up the antenna, or else you can't get to good of a reception), the clarity is amazing. We have some really cool neighbors, so we spend a lot of time at their house, when we go to have dinner and to go swimming, etc, etc. We actually bring OUR phone across the street to our neighbors house, INSIDE of our neighbors house, and it would operate as if we were standing right next to the base. Technially, this is like a mobile phone for up to a quarter of a mile away from the base. This is by far the clearest phone I have ever used.
In summary...
In summary this phone is a tremendously superb value for the rather pricey price tag. The phone is down and hovering around $109. This is an absolutly amazing value, and I would recommend this to anyone in the market for a affordable phone with plenty of features and great clarity.
