Pros: Great Price for 2 phone system. Easy to use.
Cons: Weird behavior when tied into other electronic items.
The Bottom Line: Good price, good features, good quality build. Some small issues: small buttons, not auto-on when picked up from base, etc and bigger technical issues (see review).

| izipop's Full Review: Vtech VT 2461 2.4 GHz 1-Line Cordless Phone |
I bought the 2-phone system at Costco to replace an older 900MHZ unit with built in answering machine that was set to answer on the toll saver option.
I was impressed with the feel and look of the Vtech's. From there the set up was easy.
But I ran into some issues once they were set up. I have DSL for my Internet and all my phone jacks have DSL filters. I have only one PC set up and an HP printer with faxing capabilities plugged in on one jack. From there I use an anti-telemarketer unit called "The Screen Machine". It is plugged into the DSL filter/phone jack, and then my independent Caller ID unit is plugged into the Screen Machine. From the Caller ID unit runs the actual phone line into the Vtech.
This was the same set up I had for my 900mhz Uniden. And how it used to work was this way: If the screen machine was "on" any call that came in would be picked up by the screen machine and the anti-telemarketer message was played. Only invited callers could press #5 and this would allow the screen machine to make the phone ring. Also if I did not answer or was unavailable the toll saver would kick in and have the built in answer machine pick up.
NOW what occurs with the Vtech 2461 is that once the screen machine picks up and I, or anyone calling punches #5, the vtech's will not audibly ring, although they are ringing through in the handset/cell you are calling in from? Also, unless I set the vtech's to pick up with the answer machine in 2 rings. The fax in the printer will answer? So this prevents me from using the 4 ring or toll saver option.
I am technically inclined and have trouble shot these problems thoroughly to no avail. I called vtech's support 1-800 and spoke with a support tech who could not not figure out the problems either? They suggested I return the phones?
Overall, they do seem to be a great deal for users with out all the electronic stuff like I have going on and just need/want a good 2.4G system.
