2nd Update to 'Lasted only 6 weeks': Replacement Phone, Same Problem

Pros: Clear reception a few feet farther than 900MHz phones.
Cons: Unusable after 6 weeks, the replacement phone has the same problem.
The Bottom Line: VTech replaced a malfunctioning phone, but new one has the same problem. Reception is a little better than a 900Mhz model.

The Replacement phone has the same problem as the first phone- the handset mutes the conversation after about 10 minutes use. A new battery came with the phone. Communications with the extra handset inside my metal shop 90 feet away is still good.
Original Review: Six weeks after purchasing the VT2461 and extra VT2420 handset, the voice transmission would fade out after about 10 minutes of use. Also, the handset and menus are very small.
VTech customer service provided me with troubleshooting procedures for the wrong model phone. Later, they said to return the phone for repair or replacement. Shipping was at my cost, VTech will not send a pickup order for their malfunctioning phones.
Customer service via Email is timely, but returns unhelpful "form letter" style answers that did not address the problem. Service via the telephone is a merry-go-round of button pushing with no apparent option for human service.
