I had used Pinnacle a few years ago when it was good software, but occasionally unstable. This new version has been completely stable and is a good deal more powerful than I expected.

I've used Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas as well as some simpler packages. Pinnacle 9.3 seems to be a great balance between them all. Easier to use, yet without sacrificing all of the higher end features. It has a very intuitive interface and a lot of add ons that allow the editor to add in more advanced capabilities. I guess I would recommend it to someone that does not want to spend weeks getting proficient at a software package, yet wants semi-professional results.
