Pros:Good clarity, mids and highs, both music and home theatre ready
Cons:Lack of bass, need to buy a subwoofer to get that "thundering" bass
I bought the RT8s as I was shopping for a Home Theatre system. It was about 2 yrs ago when i was a greeenhorn on Home Theatre systems. The RT8s were on sale too and I paired it up with a Denon AVR3200. The combination only sounds mediocre at first with lots of mid and highs due to the location that I put the RT8s in. There were lots of empty spaces to the left and right of the speakers and the so called "Power Port" Bass Technology didn't seem to work at all. However, after buying a TV/hifi enclosure and locating the Polks 8 inches next to the enclosure, they sound much better now with some "Power Port" bass being heard and felt. If you are operating your home theatre in a room with about a 12-15ft range, they will work quite well. Just make sure that they have some wall near them to "bring out" the bass.
