Pros: Small, Great LCD display, Great EQ and Good sound, expandability
Cons: hard to open battery cover, buttons take some getting used too
The Bottom Line: My only minor complant is this small light case seems fragile....however after 3 months of banging it around it still works great.

| mer123's Full Review: Frontier NEX IIe (32 MB) MP3 Player |
I was looking for an MP3 player that used CF cards (same as my camera) and had user defined EQ. The NEX IIe seemed to fit the bill. I also didn't want the hassle of learning new software to use with a MP3 player. I wasn't disappointed on any account, in fact I didn't install any software and just drag MP3's to a 128meg. CF card plugged into a card reader. My daughter and I share the player and we each have a 128meg. CF card with songs we like so it works great for our use. I have had it lock up once when I popped out the CF card with the player turned on. I had to remove the battery to 're-boot' but all was fine then. The 5 band user defined EQ works great also. I use lots of bass for head phones and a flat EQ when plugged into the car or home stereo. The NEX IIe has had a lot of use over the last 3 months and still works great. Also seems to have pretty good battery (rechargeable NiMh) life.
However....I could not get the MP3 player to power up after getting it. The manual is actually pretty good but not great. I turned out that the button used to 'scroll up' & 'scroll down' the play list also PUSHES IN. Gee..well it took awhile for me to figure out the 'scroll' button on my new mouse 'pushed down' also. Anyway you soon get used to the buttons.
