Pros: Size, ease of use, good informative display.
Cons: crashes ocasionally, the 'pop' when you turn it on sometimes, sound quality a bit rough.
The Bottom Line: I think this is a good player for first time MP3ers but the occasional fuzzyness might agitate experienced users.

| aj1989's Full Review: Frontier NEX IIe (32 MB) MP3 Player |
I bought my NexIIe about a year ago and I really enjoy using it. I think its a great player for fist time MP3ers. It was my second player and I was surprised at the size and software.
I originally bought this player because my previous player could only hold a few albums worth and the sound quality was very bad compared with others I had used.
I thought it would be a lot bigger than it was and I didn't expect the display to be as good as it was or that It would be as easy to use as it was. The backlight is great and the inverted colour in the screen is quite classy.
I use mine a lot when I'm travelling or at cafes and hotels. I find the battery life very good as well. on a couple of good quality AAs it will run for at least a week when being used now and again.
The earphones that come with it are a bit uncomfortable so I have bought some Sony Earbuds which I love. However having bought these I have noticed that when playing quite tracks you can hear distortion and a bit of fuzziness in the background. Although this doesn't bother me if I was more picky it would really get on my nerves.
I bought a 256mb card with my NexIIe and found I can fit about 80 tracks on it. Also just dropping files into it using explorer is really good. It saves a lot of time and for less experienced users complicated software doesn't help.
I don't like the fact that you have to use batteries when loading tracks on to the player even though you can power it through the cable. This uses up power which could be saved for long journeys.
Lastly I bought my NexIIe from AdvancedMP3players.com
I found them very helpful and they include a free next-day delivery which was great.
