Pros: Drag and drop to unit, Navigation is fast and easy. Good sound. Plenty of volume
Cons: Cost, Bit Heavy, Songs arrange in alphabetical order on unit
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this product. Given the quality of the sound, ease of use, and the 15 gig drive, I believe it's worth the price.

| cramuncher's Full Review: Archos Mini JukeBox Recorder (15 GB) MP3 Player |
I have tried a number of these hard drive MP3 Players, and for me, this is the best. (The Treos by E.Digital is cheaper and has different play options, but can't find in a store, and feels flimsy like it won't hold up). The Archos is solid. When turned on it goes right to a list of albums or artists depending how you arrange things. The display is well organized and navigation is fairly simple only requiring a small learning curve. It becomes a hard drive when attached with the USB cable, so transfer is as easy as drag and drop. (Transfer is not as fast as with Firewire, but still fast enough). Playlists can be created and edited right on the jukebox real easily. You can also record from other sources, or play through other devices with the line in and line out jacks. Rechargable batteries last about 8 hours. Sound quality is very good. Of course the higher the bit rate the better the sound, but with 15 gigs, why not use 128 kbs?. One drawback is the documentation. The instructions really don't describe how to do much, but the Archos web site is not bad, and unlike other reviews I have read, I have found that they answer my e-mail within a few days. The unit is pretty heavy. Definitely not for the sportsman (hard drive units wouldn't be anyway). If you are looking for something to do aerobics with, try a flash memory player
