Pros: storage size, ease of menu use, ease of drag-and-drop
Cons: weight, lack of protection from drops, no belt clip on soft case, headphones are horrible
The Bottom Line: A great unit for someone with a large storage of music looking for a portable mp3 player.

| prattguy's Full Review: Archos Mini JukeBox Recorder (15 GB) MP3 Player |
I was tired of using the MP3 players with 32 and 64 megs of storage, listening to the same songs over and over when I was working out. Finally I gave in and bought the Archos so that I wouldn't have to load and take off songs over and over.
I was pleased with it right away. Typically there is a huge manual with loads of information you have to course through before use, but with the archos, it doesn't get much simpler. Just install the software, then pretty much just drag and drop your songs onto the new drive that is created. Then if you want to edit the list, you can go through and group your songs (or do it before you drop them into the drive).
The menu is much easier to use than other models, although it may take a couple minutes to go though everything. The screen could use a little more resolution so that you can see more data being displayed, but it'll get you enough for you to figure out. Just highlight the menu choice you want, and push "play" to select. It's as simple as that, let me tell you.
The only thing I'm worried about is that the weight of the machine doesn't seem to match the protective capablities of the hardened rubber corners put on the unit. I haven't dropped mine, but it seems like the unit would take a pretty good jolt instead of being cushioned. That and the carrying case needs a belt clip instead of a belt loop, and this would be even better.
However, the headphones leave a lot to be desired though, although that may have just been the pair I received. the in-line volume control was nice, but it caused static in the sound as though there was a loose connection, so I ended up buying some $4 headphones of my own.
