| dynamobull's Full Review: Intel 3000 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
The Intel Personal Audio Player is a pretty good portable MP3 Player. I purchased it mainly because it was on sale and was relatively cheap (I paid about $50 bucks.) It is a great device if you are mainly using it for working out at the gym or jogging. One of my complaints is the fact that the headphones (earbuds) that come with it are somewhat flimsy (the wire starting to fray a bit soon after I got it). If you can find a deal on this MP3 player I would definitely recommend getting this and possibly buying a decent pair of headphones. (The earbud earphones also seem to have the odd habit of falling out at the worst times - while I am jogging on the treadmill or in the middle of a set - so definitely spend some extra money and buy some decent ones!) Another thing I like about this is that it runs on only one AA battery. It does seem to eat up batteries - you may need a new battery after every 6-8 hours of use. (Again, I use rechargeable batteries and if you are using one of these MP3 players regularly at the gym or for regular jogging I highly recommend that you do the same. Or else you will be buying an endless supply of batteries! Also rechargeable batteries are better for the environment - you won't be throwing away batteries all the time!) My biggest complaint about the Intel Personal MP3 Player is the software that comes with it. It tends to take FOREVER to load up on my computer (and I have a relatively new computer!). But after you get the software up and running then there are no problems - it is very intuitive and easy to use. (It sometimes freezes up in the middle while I am moving songs around but those times are rare. The loadup time is definitely the most annoying!) One plus is that this little thing is put together very well - you don't have to worry about it breaking if you drop it. At the gym I have dropped it several times while on the treadmill or elliptical machine and it continued to work with no problems. Overall, if you can find a great price on it then I would definitely recommend it - you can't beat it at around $50.
