| KaylaRaine's Full Review: Rio PMP-300 (32 MB) MP3 Player |
I've had this mp3 player for about 6 months and I never want to have to give it up. I take it almost everywhere...on the metro, to the gym, to the grocery store...etc. I even hook it up to some mini speakers I have and listen to it around the house.
The best thing about this mp3 player is its ease of use. It comes with some software which takes about 5 minutes to install on your computer. Then you use the parallel port chord to connect it to the back of your computer (in the printer port) so that you can upload songs. The software you install is then used as a transfer device. All you have to do is press a button and it immediate brings up the current songs on your player and tells you how much memory you have left to add more songs. You can delete songs and add new ones at your whim and in seconds...as long as you have enough memory left.
One con about this mp3 player is that is only has 32MB of memory, which will only allow it to hold 7 or 8 songs...or about 30 minutes worth. Still, this is perfect for activities such as going to the gym, going running, on the metro, etc. It is so easy to delete and download new songs that you can change your playlist everyday if you choose. Also, you can buy another memory card to upgrade it to 64MB, which will allow you to upload almost an hour's worth of music.
This model is very compact and can easily fit into your pocket or purse. There is a small clip attachment on the back that will allow you to clip it to your beltloop, the top of your pants, your pocket, purse string, etc. Basically, it is easy to take this mp3 player anywhere b/c it can be easily stored.
It has your basic controls...play, fast forward, rewind, stop, pause, repeat, and random. The sound quality is excellent. When I listen to it on the metro during rush hour, I only have to turn the volume up halfway to drown out all the other noise.
Probably the biggest problem I have with this mp3 player is that it eats batteries easily. It only takes one AA battery, but that battery will probably only last about 6 or 7 hours.
Still, I would recommend buying this mp3 player if you are someone who likes to listen to music alot and be able to have your own mix to listen to wherever you go.
