I've had my Rio player for almost a year now and although it is the most basic model on the market it has served me well.
I'm a marathon runner and I mainly use it to help the miles go by on my long training runs. The software is easy to use and transferring songs onto it causes no problems. The headphones that come with the player weren't the best so I just use a better quality of sports headphones which work well.
For the money I paid I am more than happy with the Rio player although a memory upgrade (which is definitely required) is still too expensive. I will wait for one of the newer models, with many more features, to come down in price before I buy a new one.
One positive note on the Diamond customer service - my data cable had a few bent prongs when I first bought it, but after a quick call to the helpdesk I received a new cable within 2 days.
