Pros: Decent Sound Quality, Doesn't skip like CD
Cons: Low memory, no backlight
The Bottom Line: This player is functional, works well, and with a memory card is readily expandable. I would recommend this player if you are able to purchase it for less than $50.

| wilsonjo's Full Review: Rio One (32 MB) MP3 Player |
I bought my RioOne off of Ebay for $29+$10 shipping. It came with everything the retail version comes with, my unit was basically a sealed factory refurb unit.
This is a great product. It plays MP3s (and supposedly wma's, but I don't use wma's) and comes with 32 megs of memory. I recently bought a 64 meg SmartMedia card to expand the memory.
The player is very handy, and I use it when I go walking/exercising, cleaning, etc. It never skips and it has good battery life. I have used the same battery in it for a couple weeks now and listen to a couple songs every day. The manual lists it as 10 hours of battery life from a single AA battery.
The software that comes with the player is Real Jukebox. I do not care for it too much, but it gets the job done. It is an all-in-one application to rip/convert/transer/organize mp3s. There are supposedly some 3rd party applications available on the internet. Also, when you hook up the USB cable, it adds the MP3 player and any memory card as separate harddrives, so you can drag and drop MP3s this way.
The player is not back-lighted. The player is made of plastic and the plastic feels kinda cheap. Sometimes when I am cleaning and I bump it, I feel like I might be breaking it. The headphones that come with the player hurt my ears after using it for about a 1/2 hour or more.
The buttons are easy to use and understand, and has basic features like repeat and random. As well as a loop feature.
Overall, if you can get the player for less than $40 than it is worth it. I don't think I would pay more than $50 for it when you can get other better players for slightly more than that price.
