| pjreiman's Full Review: Rio Sport S30S (64 MB) MP3 Player |
The Rio sport is a great audio device for active people. I bought two: one for me and one for my girlfriend. She is an avid runner, and appreciates the size and ability to strap it to her arm. The memory size is also adequate for most joggers. She has dropped it a few times, but it keeps on ticking!
I bought mine to use while commuting (train, and frequent airplane trips). I also added an extra 128 MB in order to ensure enough music for my longer plane trips. I had difficulties using the radio when on the train, but it was fine while walking on the street. I have found that the batteries run out fairly quickly (about 3-4 hours, maximum). On many occasions, I've also too easily hit a button that made me skip a track-- not a big deal, but annoying.
I like the management software. It's very easy to find available audio files. The only problem I have with the software is that it cannot recognize files that are copy protected. I use PressPlay for music downloads, and the Rio Music Manager imports songs that I have only downloaded (but that aren't available for transfer). I do like that I can play both WMA and MP3. I also appreciate the fact that the software shows me how much space is left.
