| nurdt01's Full Review: Samsung Yepp YP-E64 (64 MB) MP3 Player |
A little less than a year ago, I thought to myself "An MP3 Player? Only hard-core computer geeks buy those! I'll never get one as long as I have my CD player!" I got my computer shortly after and I was introduced to the wonderful world of MP3s! I purchase this unit after looking on the internet and in my local electronics stores. I was lucky enough to find a store that sold this one for $180. I installed the software (it took no time to install) and started transferring MP3's to the player. You can load them either one at a time by selecting them through the standard open file interface, or you can download them in groups by drag-and-drop method.
The buttons are well placed on this one, with the main on e being a circular shaped play/stop/ff/rew button on the front. The LCD is large and clear, which is good, but not lit, which can be bad at times. The hold feature is great, if you want to just play, and not skip forward or anything else. The other options with this player are: voice recording at .25 MB/ min, and telephone number storage (only name/ work# /home#).
After I finished downloading (which took a while with the parallel connection, USB is undoubtedly faster), I turned it on. The sound is AMAZING. Of course it all depends on the quality of the recording in the first place. All of the songs I got from my CD's sounded perfect. Some of the ones I got from the internet sounded a little worse, but still good.
If you have a computer, and want an affordable MP3 Player, buy this one, but don't pay more than $180.
