Pros: HQ sound. Built to last. Great AM/FM with TV band. 50 hr battery. user friendly.
Cons: None so far.
The Bottom Line: Buy this one over any I have seen in the $100-160 range. Don't waste your money on cheap junk. This is an entertainment treat and I am worth it!

This was above what I initially wanted to spend. However, the AM/FM/W/TV tuner and the high quality weather-tight construction won me over. Last week I returned a cheap 49.00 player that had micro printed buttons I could not read and was difficult to use. This Sony is just what I was looking for. Good clear labeling I can read with a nice high contrast digital display. It is very easy to use.
CD's sound great as there is a good spacial image. Too bad it doesn't have some type of 2 channel surround capability, but nobody has that yet. Also a belt holster would be useful.
The AM/FM digital tuner locks onto signal well, providing clear stereo sound. I could easily pick-up FM stations 100 miles from home. What a joy to discover new big city stations. I didn't realize how addictive the TV tuner could be as I am now enjoying indepth newscasts and entertainment as well.
I could not get any CD's to skip. The superior shock protector works perfectly. Battery life is exceptional: 50 hours for CD's and 70 for the tuner.
I am not sorry I parted with my 129.00 for the Sony D-FS601. I believe I got the bargain. Completely satisfied...
