Pros: when working, prints relatively sharply
Cons: misfeeds paper often, clean nozzles often
The Bottom Line: The 80$ price tag should hint at the quality of this printer. Use it if you have to, it'll work eventually. Otherwise, there's better out there, get one of them.

| livewire_13's Full Review: Epson Stylus Photo 820 InkJet Printer |
Before I get started, I'd like to comment that my printer says Epson Stylus Photo 820 and I use a macintosh, so I'm assuming that this is the product they mean. Really, I thought they were one and the same, but what do I know ;)
This printer requres a lot of tender loving care and attention for it to work well. If you forget about it only to return to print an urgent document suddenly, it's going to chew up your document and spit it out at you. However, if you keep it clean and make sure the paper feeds correctly, you'll have no problem.
When I first got my printer with my emac for college, all of my thoughts were on my computer. C'mon, who hypes up about a printer? And when I plugged them both in and started typing of papers, I had no problem printing them out. However, after a semester, my brother's identical printer began having severe issues with the nozzles becoming dirty all the time. After using and maintaining his by accident the entire semester, I returned to mine only to find the same thing to a lesser degree. Every now and then I have to clean the nozzles or I get a terrible print out. And make sure you use the paper size adjuster on the back or hold the paper as it goes in as it has a terrible habit of jamming and feeding crooked.
But like every ugly duck, it has a positive side. When the nozzles are clean and the paper feeds correctly, text prints amazingly clear. Images that aren't ridiculously detailed print out relatively well, and color isn't even too much of a problem with images. Just make sure you let it dry first.
I go through about one cartridge of black and one of color a semester, so in my opinion, it's a little pricey to feed this beast. Also, the nozzle and paper feeding issues really overweigh the quality of printouts. If you can find better, you're probably better off.
