I wanted something that would print a great quality photo without spending a ton of money, which nobody should have to do. The Epson C62 was perfect for my projects. When you use photo paper and properly setup the print features before you print, you cannot tell the difference between a professional print and what the C62 can output! Awesome print quality for the money but you also have to know something about printing and scanning to get good results. Some people say this doesn't print good quality? Well, they probably don't have the correct settings on, or they are printing an image without enough resolution. It's really a nice printer if you understand how printing works.
The only negatives I am seeing is this printer jams and pulls more than one sheet of paper through sometimes due to a poor paper handling system. But, for the price I can deal with that once in a while. The ink cartridges suck ink like crazy so this is not a good choice for a high volume office! Don't let the kids play with this printer and print everything under the sun or you will be purchasing ink cartridges left and right. For simple black text just use the draft setting or next highest setting and the black ink will last a lot longer.
Oh yes, this printer is not very quiet. In fact, it's quite loud! Again, no big deal to me because it was only $59 after rebate. For the quality of prints that's a steal. I could not be more thrilled with Epson and the quality for the price. If I wanted perfection I wouldn't have spent $59. You have to realize you get what you pay for in life and you must choose which features are most important. For me, I wanted picture quality prints at an affordable price.
