Well, the old man sold the Harley and sent me off to the computer store to buy myself a new printer. Well, I was VERY excited about this shopping trip since I have been stuck with an ancient black and white line printer for as long as I can remember. (Even though Old Faithful was still alive and kicking the transition to printing in color and making all kinds of cool stationery and stuff made me a bit giddy).
Being the generous man that he is hubby had given me a limit of $200 to buy the printer. I was looking for a photo quality printer, of course. Something that would print out a nice looking document as well as a vivid photo quality color print. Something easy to maintain and reliable.
I looked over about ten different models and brands not really being led by price. I looked at all the printers practical for home use and decided on the Epson Stylus Color 740.
Several factors helped me decide which printer to purchase. One factor was print quality. The showroom setting was such that printing a test document was easy. Being able to compare the print quality of several different brands and models really helped tip the scales. I found the print quality of the Stylus 740 to be the clearest, most even colored and vivid prints.
Printing time was also another consideration. The Epson proved to be the quickest and the quietest.
So, I bought the Epson Stylus Color 740 printer, hopped in my car and headed home to set up the new printer and get busy!! Much to my delight the installation was quick, easy and efficient. Extra software that comes with the printer includes DogByte Greeting Card Store, Polaroid PhotoMax, and Photo Printer.
The only drawback was the connection cable does not come with the printer so if you don't have one you will have to purchase one seperate.
The ink cartridges were a snap to install.
The moral of this story is that you don't have to spend alot of money to get a good reliable product. Not only did I get the printer I really WANTED but the hubby got that warm fuzzy feeling he gets when he gets back more change than he expected!
I would recommend this printer to anyone looking for a reliable printer that kicks out quality documents and graphics.
